Since the start of lockdown it is estimated by the PDSA that 5.4 million pets where acquired, 2.5million of them being dogs. Emma and Mark Robinson, farmers in Cranford, were approached by someone wanting to rent a field from them as their local dog park was always full due to the increase in demand.

With this in mind, they set to finding out more about dog parks, how they worked, where they were located, and whether it was something they should look at offering on the farm. It became apparent that there was a huge demand in the area, and Cranford was positioned perfectly to accommodate all those doggies and their families from Burton, Barton, Thrapston, Kettering, surrounding villages and further afield.

So how do they work? Well, the idea is that you book a field on your chosen day and time for 30 or 60 mins via the website. You are then sent a code to unlock the car park gate and have the entire field to yourself, the field is fenced, the car park secure and there are lots of activities for you and your dog to do together. It’s great for dogs that have a problem with recall, are reactive to other dogs or people, for owners who find it difficult to walk long distances, puppies that need training or those that just want to relax knowing their dog is secure in the field.

Emma & Mark have been overwhelmed with the response to the fields over the past nine months and can’t thank their regulars enough for supporting them and treating the park with respect. They always welcome new visitors but ask that you make sure you understand the park rules before booking.

All you need to do is visit the website to book and find out more and don’t forget to like the page on Facebook to stay up to date with any news.
