Brookside Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Family-owned and run care home ‘Brookside’
in Braybrooke will celebrate its 25th anniversary
in June. This signifi cant milestone will be
marked by a party for residents with music and
a delicious spread of party food.

Brookside is situated on the edge of the picturesque
village of Braybrooke and sits in the
heart of some of the most attractive countryside.
The home opened its doors in June 1995
to its very fi rst elderly resident. Driven by a
genuine love for the elderly and a real passion
for providing care for people in their twilight
years, the Clarke family then extended their
family home to make space for more elderly
residents, and Brookside organically grew into
the family-run, compassionate care home it is
today.

To this day, the home remains in the Clarke
family who take immense pride in creating a
caring and peaceful home for their elderly residents.
Sisters Helen and Sarah are now the
new owners of the home following the retirement
of their parents John and Linda Clarke.
Brookside is a well-respected, professionally-
run care home for the elderly where local
friendly staff work hard to maintain their excellent
reputation. Their immaculate standards
and real family-run feel is a testament to its
25-year milestone!

The pre-planned party to celebrate the home’s
anniversary will be absent of family members
due to the lockdown. Staff at Brookside understand
that even with restrictions in place, it
is important for residents to feel connected to
family and so they will be inviting them to join
the celebrations by video call and sharing photos
on Facebook for family members to see.

Perhaps one of the reasons why Brookside
has been such a success for 25 years is that,
at the core, is a real family with real love and
a very big heart. Brookside provides a family-
run home where residents are loved, respected
and looked after. Brookside Manager
Hayley lives on site with her husband and
young son. Hayley oversees the day-to-day
running of the home together with her team of
carers; they take care of residents as if they
are part of their own family.

Sarah Clarke, co-owner of Brookside says,
“There is a real special magic here at Brookside.
Staff cherish the stories told by residents
and we take the time to listen to tales of family,
travels and lives well-spent.

These stories help us to better understand
each person who comes to live with us and
allows us to give them the individual time and
care they deserve. We are delighted to celebrate
25 years and hope to enjoy many more
wonderful years at Brookside!”

Manager Hayley adds: “I feel proud to be a part
of Brookside’s journey over the years. Most of
the staff have been with us for years, I think
this says a lot about Brookside. We all feel
overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity over
this lockdown period. We have had so many
kind donations and letters to our residents to
help them through these strange times. My
team of staff have been exceptional and have
taken that all important time to keep our residents
upbeat and smiling every day. Thanks
to everyone for your support and kind words.”

The cosy home-from-home atmosphere evident
at Brookside isn’t easily replicated in
larger care homes. During the lockdown, the
caring staff at Brookside are keeping residents
busy with a varied repertoire of sing-a-longs,
cake decorating, arts & crafts, garden events
and the opportunity to video call family and
loved ones.
