Appreciating Cosiness

The nights are drawing in and days become
shorter. As winter approaches and the
weather turns colder, we are likely to spend
more time indoors at home.

There is a lovely Danish word: “hygge”,
which roughly translated means a warm
and cosy atmosphere with friends and
family in snug surroundings.

“Hygge” is something we can create at
home with the use of lighting, colour,
flowers, and objects pleasing to the eye.
Candlelight, dishes, drinks, accessories,
etc. help create a warm and cosy ambience
to cheer us, particularly on cold and dull
winter evenings.
