Silver
Silver is a precious metal that has been used to make functional objects and decorative items for many centuries. It is a durable and malleable metal which craftsmen have used to create beautiful objects over the years. In this country we have a system of hallmarking, making it possible to identify the assay offices and dates that pieces were made. In addition, many pieces are stamped with maker’s initials. Some pieces made by important silversmiths have become very desirable and, therefore, collectable. Here at Affleck Bridge Antiques we are fortunate to have in-house specialists in silverware, and we are therefore able to stock a wide variety of items to suit all tastes.
