It doesn’t have to be January to set new goals

Did you make your New Year Resolution on 1st January?  If you didn’t, don’t worry as there’s no right time to set goals.  In fact, for many of us this is the wrong time entirely, as we are still taking part in Christmas and New Year celebrations or are enjoying a winter hibernation.  Instead it can be a great time to ponder our intentions for the year, delaying the actual goal setting until later.

Why wait for a special day to begin looking after your health and wellbeing goals?  Every day you have the opportunity to select healthy options instead of making poor choices.  Different times of year work for different people and, either way, now is just as good a time as any.

In business, goals are being set around the year and often every 90 days or quarter; this makes tasks a lot more manageable and it gives something to work towards.  You can apply the same thought process to your health and well-being.  Perhaps thinking that a ‘once-a-year-fix’ is a good idea is the real issue?

What will help you is to turn your goals into smaller habits for success.  When there are unhelpful habits that have been created over not just this lifetime but many others, setting a series of smaller ones would be easier and more efficient.
