Desborough Library and Community Hub

Desborough Library and Community Hub (DLCH) is a charitable trust set-up to run the public library services in Desborough and develop a community hub for the town, outside of normal library opening hours.  Run by volunteers, DLCH offers many services when the library is open: help with bus pass and Blue Badge applications and renewals; children’s activities such as Story Stomp and Baby Time on Wednesdays, and Rhymetime on Fridays; Knit and Natter on Tuesdays, and Scrabble on Thursdays.

Public computers are available to use, as well as printing and lamination, and DLCH also hires out space in the building, with use of table, chairs, crockery included plus access to the exceptional media kit that has been installed.

DLCH runs events on a regular basis: Bingo every first Saturday of the month; cake sales every third Thursday, film nights and prize draws, music evenings and talks. More events are also taking place, such as a lovely evening of Storytelling with Music presented by Richard York who will be playing the Celtic harp on Saturday 19th March at 7.30pm; and Gardeners’ Question Time with Johnnie Amos on Thursday 7th April at 7.30pm; and Quiz Night on Saturday 23rd April at 7.30pm.

A Community Group Open Day is also planned for Saturday 23rd April from 2.30-5pm; any local community group can ask to have a table.  Looking further ahead, DLCH will host a Psychic Night with Tracy Bayes on Saturday 7th May at 7.30pm.

DLCH is open: Tues & Wed 9.30am to 4pm, Thurs 9am to 5pm, Fri 10am to 5pm and Sat 11am to 1pm.
