Christmas is well and truly arriving at Spanhoe Lodge; all the lights are being prepared as we speak and there will be more than ever before this year. A victim of our own success, however, we have unfortunately had to take the decision not to run the annual Christmas Lights switch on event but this actually means that visitors will now be able to come and see the lights on any Friday and Saturday in December between 4pm and 8pm rather than just on the one day! On these evenings hot and cold festive food and drink will be served, enabling everyone to enjoy a family Christmas evening out with no entry fee. Santa’s Grotto For those with little ones to entertain, why not also combine your visit with a trip to Santa’s Grotto. Santa has been in touch and agreed to visit Spanhoe Lodge for even more dates this December; book now to see him and his elf between 4pm and 8pm on any of the following dates during December: Friday 1st, Saturday 2nd Friday 8th, Saturday 9th Friday 15th, Saturday 16th Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd As a family you can spend one to one time with Santa and his elf; children can chat to Santa while his elf will help the rest of the family take photos on their own phone or camera. Each child (over 1 years old) will receive a small gift, after which they will be shown into Mrs Claus’s kitchen to decorate a festive gingerbread treat. Afterwards, take time to walk through the amazing scene of Christmas lights, get lost in the magic of Lemax with its stunning village scene and enjoy festive food and drink which will be available to available to purchase at the bar. Whilst visiting us this December visitors can still support Lakelands by placing a donation in one of the collection pots around the Lodge or by purchasing one of the Christmas gifts provided by the hospice.
