On Thursday 20th May, Delapré Abbey in Northampton will safely reopen its doors to visitors once again. Discover 900 years of exciting and turbulent history as you explore the Abbey’s intriguing past – from its origins as a Cluniac nunnery, heyday as a country house, and its time as the Record Offi ce before the recent restoration.

Reservations have also opened for the Abbey’s fi ne-dining restaurant, Hibiscus, which scooped two top awards at the Weetabix Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards 2020/21 (see pages 46-47). Hibiscus was awarded Gold status in the ‘Booker Dining Venue of the Year’ category, while head chef Samuel Squires, was named ‘Chef of the Year’.

Hibiscus is part of T.H.E Hospitality, which runs several pubs, restaurants, and cafés across Northamptonshire, including The Orangery café and new deli ‘Common Ground’, both of which are based at Delapré Abbey.

During lockdown, the team have been redecorating the café and adding a new bar with a cocktail menu – ready to be enjoyed when The Orangery reopens on Monday 17th May.

The safety of visitors, volunteers and staff is a key priority to the Abbey team and they are proud to be part of Visit Britain’s Good to Go scheme, which means you can visit safe in the knowledge that they adhere to government and industry COVID-19 guidelines.
