Each year Spanhoe Lodge, an 8-bedroom B&B
in Laxton, is known locally for decorating both
inside and outside with Christmas lights to raise
money for Lakelands Hospice in Corby.

The event would usually be attended by hundreds
of visitors from local villages and from Corby
and Stamford. Visitors would usually enjoy a
Christmas Quiz, Live Music from Corby Silver
Band, Carol Singing from Seaton Starlights,
a Christmas market place to pick up gifts from
local businesses and enjoy a selection of festive
treats from Spanhoe Lodge, such as turkey rolls,
hot mince pies and mulled wine. Obviously this
year, due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic,
it won’t be possible for the event to go ahead in
its normal way.

Owners Reece & Neil could not bear the idea of
not doing anything for Christmas, so they will still
be putting some of the Christmas lights (including
a few new bits), but unfortunately it won’t be
anywhere near the full display.

The Lights will be on from Monday 30th November
throughout December. Spanhoe Lodge will then
be open on Fridays and Saturdays in December
(4th & 5th, 11th & 12th and 18th & 19th December)
from 6pm to 8pm for guests to enjoy some
hot food, mulled wine and mince pies.
There will be some Lakelands goodies
such as Christmas decorations, cards
and diaries for sale as well as collection
buckets with proceeds going straight to
Lakelands Hospice. This is all subject to
any further restrictions being in place.
Reece & Neil hope to be able to welcome
you in December to enjoy a little bit of
festive fun and enjoy good food and
decorations all whilst supporting a local
business and charity at this diffi cult time!
They hope to be back bigger than ever in

Their normal Café is currently open
Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm,
serving hot and cold food and drinks.
