Northamptonshire author Jane Isaac celebrated the release of her second novel, The Truth Will Out, in style on Friday 4th April with a launch party at Waterstones in Market Harborough.

The book is a psychological crime thriller set between the Midlands and the Scottish Highlands and follows Jane’s debut crime novel, An Unfamiliar Murder, which was released by Rainstorm Press in 2012.

The Truth Will Out is about a police case that initially appears straightforward, but begins
to unravel hidden secrets that plunge DCI Helen Lavery into the underbelly of Hampton’s organised crime fraternity. Uncovering a trail of police corruption, will Helen’s involvement
ultimately bring the threat of murder to her own door?

The novel is endorsed by best-selling crime writer Alison Bruce who was transfi xed with Jane’s lead protagonist: ‘Meet DCI Helen Lavery. Capable. Vulnerable. Driven.’ As a strong independent single mother, Helen defi es your perception of a typical DCI in a crime book, adding a new twist to the genre. A former student of creative writing with the London School of Journalism, Jane started her fiction career in 2009 writing short stories for anthologies, but she always knew she wanted to write a novel. An avid reader of crime fiction, her  greatest influences are Jeffery Deader and James Patterson, so in the summer of that year she set out to write a page-turning psychological thriller with ‘real’ characters that people can relate to; who could just as easily be you or I. As soon as she fi nished An Unfamiliar Murder, she started the second and the rest, as they say, is history.

Jane lives in rural Northamptonshire where she fits her fiction writing around her day job and family. She can often be seen trudging across the fi elds with her Labrador, Bollo, pondering her characters and plotlines. Jane is aware that many members of the local community may have a keen interest in writing and publishing their own work. Whether you
are a writers’ group, book club, rotary club or women’s institute she would be happy to come
out and talk to you about the process, and invites you to contact her via her website at www.janeisaac.co.uk.

The Truth Will Out is published by Legend Press and available on Amazon and in all good
bookshops.
