Summer may be going but the Oundle Cinema’s new season presents dramatic biographies and romances to distract from the approach of winter. Please check the website for exact details as the programme below may be subject to change.  Film nights in Oundle take place at The Stahl Theatre in West Street PE8 4FJ. Doors open at 7.15pm for tickets and bar services. The programme commences punctually at 7.45pm. Tickets (adults £5, under 18s £3) can be purchased or reserved in advance at the Oundle Festival Offi ce, 4 New Street, PE8 4ED or on 01832 272734. On the night tickets can be purchased at the theatre. Sunday 15 September Lincoln (12A)

Stephen Spielberg’s biographical drama follows the fi nal months of one of America’s greatest presidents: Abraham Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis). Lincoln and his men work to end the Civil War and abolish slavery once and for all in the United States, despite running into bigotry at every turn. Lincoln’s determination and his choices will change the fate of future American generations.

Friday 25 October Summer in February (15)

Before the First World War Sir Alfred Munnings, the celebrated equestrian painter, was a leading member of the Lamorna group in Cornwall. The story focuses on the real life love triangle between Alfred, his friend Gilbert Evans and the girl they both loved, Florence Carter-Wood.

Friday 18 October Life of Pi

Ang Lee’s acclaimed fi lm based on the award-winning novel by Yann Martel. A young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor: a fearsome Bengal tiger.
