The summer months have been challenging times for the rural communities with the weather proving a real hindrance to the harvest but this has also meant a slow start to the hare coursing season with minimum reports into the team about it.

The team have been supporting our colleagues at events such as the F1 Grand Prix and MotoGP at Silverstone as well as being able to support our rural communities at lovely local shows like Blakesley, even if it was a bit soggy!

The team have also been out and about in different marked and unmarked vehicles assisting on our major road networks against criminal gangs who travel into the county to commit thefts on lorries parked up overnight.

We’ve also been visiting victims of crime offering reassurance and crime prevention and have attended the national Op Galileo conference in Lincolnshire which saw over 30 forces get together to discuss best practice and offender management in regards to hare coursing. Crime doesn’t see county borders and so neither do we.

Remember crime at the time 999, for everything else report online or 101 with a new dedicated link to report wildlife and rural crime through.
