Sinead and Scott Seabrook had only been running Woodford Mill Tearoom for a couple of weeks before they experienced the severe fl ooding at the end of November. A major set back for the Christmas trade but not enough to put the enthusiastic couple off making exciting Situated on the river between Ringstead and Great Addington, the Woodford Mill Tearoom boasts a working watermill linked to a generator, which helps to power the tearoom. A second watermill is currently being refurbished. The tearoom can seat 40 people inside and the same again outside. It is wheelchair friendly and there is a lovely seated garden, which welcomes dog walkers and all guests. Sinead and Scott have worked in Europe for the past year, providing high level private catering and holiday management for families. They have extensive hospitality and catering experience, which they are now bringing to the tearoom and holiday cottages above. The couple offers a range of great tasting meals from breakfast to winter warmer menus for crisp cold days and caters for celiac, dairy free and other allergies where possible. All food and cakes are homemade and there is a good selection of hot drinks available. From February, Sinead and Scott will be launching evening openings as a fi ne dining restaurant, with a ‘bring your own’ alcohol policy. From January, a series of special events will be introduced such as a family history night, an antiques night with Mark Seabrook, a cupcake decorating workshop with Claire Ling and Burns’ Night on 25th January. Every Thursday afternoon from 1pm- 3pm is ‘stay and play’ for parents and pre-schoolers and a ‘knit and natter’ afternoon is also in the pipeline.
