Neil Bradley and Zachary Bradley-Deacon have set up Cranford Parish Action Group (CPAG) with the aim to protect and enhance the village of Cranford by working with the public, local and national organisations. The group is planning to hold a series of events in Cranford which will give the community the chance to form new friendships and learn valuable skills.

The group is public and anyone can join to help safeguard the unique character of Cranford and ensure that any future development is of a suitable scale and relevant to the needs of its residents.

Cranford Parish Action Group has acquired the old style KV6 Red Telephone Box on the High Street, originally to house an honesty shop filled with everyday staples as a non-profit maker with any monies raised being ploughed back into the shop and used to seek out suitable premises in which to open a larger community-owned village shop. If you have any alternative suggestions for the use of the Telephone Box or know of suitable premises, please contact CPAG.  Neil and Zachery are both keen bakers and have been approached by villagers to form a community bakery, which could supply the village shop. They would like this done under the auspices of a co-operative, so if you want to help out and bake some break and cakes, please also contact CPAG.

A Pudding Club will be held on Sunday 23rd September from 3-6pm at Cranford Village Hall as a fundraiser for the CPAG. Bring a bowl and spoon and enjoy as many puddings as you can manage. There will be free tea and coffee and you are more than welcome to bring a pudding to support the initiative. Tickets are £5.

The Cranford Environment and Conservation Association (CECA) is part of CPAG. CECA was established to promote the conservation and protection of the wildlife and natural environment within the Cranford area and hopes to encourage the active involvement of the local community and work with the local school as part of their science curriculum on natural processes. Its first project is to adopt the brook running through Cranford and commence a cleaning process. CECA is currently in discussion with Rivercare, a project run in partnership with Anglian Water, The Environment Agency and Keep Britain Tidy, about adopting the brook to clear it of litter and dog waste and improve the water cleanliness.

If you want to be involved in CPAG or CECA or have any suggestions for potential projects, please contact Neil or Zachary on 01536 330545 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
