Careers Fair

InspireEDUCATION is an organisation that is working with schools and business to help bridge the gap between education and employment.

As we all know the economy is in diffi cult times, businesses require more than ever to be able to recruit good talent, yet students are leaving our education system without the skills for work. 2011 sees the highest numbers of students unemployed from school leavers to graduates; there are many contributing factors but lack of “employability skills” has to be high on the list.

InspireEDUCATION’s Careers Education programmes are delivered into schools to help raise the aspirations and work skills of young people. They highlight the employability skills young people need to be successful but also teach them to be independent in securing these skills and motivated to begin a career. Part of their work includes employer-led careers fairs, these events are a prime opportunity for young people to engage with employers and understand the vast array of opportunities available whilst also  developing an understanding of the skills employers demand.

InspireEDUCATION is currently looking for employers to attend two events in Corby in 2012 and would like to invite you and your organisation to be involved.

Secondary Careers Fair – 10th February 2012

Over 1000 secondary schools pupils will be given the opportunity to walk around an interactive fair talking to local and national employers about the range of career opportunities. InspireEDUCATION is looking for support from all types of organisations to represent the world of work. Your organisation would take a stand in this market stall event and talk to students 15 years + about the career opportunities, skills and qualifi cations required in your sector.

Primary Careers Day – 23rd March 2012

This event is a gentler introduction to the world of work; InspireEDUCATION believes that by engaging pupils early they can help motivate them to be successful throughout their education.

This event will be presentation led, employees of companies will be asked to talk to groups of 15 students about their job, what it is like, why they enjoy it and so on; capturing young minds early. Employers can send any number of staff to this event from different departments as it is less about showcasing a sector and more specifi cally about jobs. So InspireEDUCATION would welcome any staff members who are engaging and enthusiastic to talk to these 8-9 year olds. Both events are free to employers and your organisation will be supported in getting the most out of your time at the events.

Businesses/Staff attending will receive:
• Free advert in event booklet
• Mention in the pre ss
• Refreshments/lunch
• Support in getting the most from the event
• Employer booklet with information on education, student pathways

If your organisation would like to attend either or both events please contact the team at InspireEDUCATION and they will call you to discuss this in more detail; you can email the team at This email address is being protected from spambots. There are many ways employers can help to bridge the gaps and support young people, the careers fairs are just one way, but InspireEDUCATION can also support individual organisations or groups with the following:

• Enterprise Events
• School Education Programmes
• School Resources
• Skills Academies
• Sponsored Work Related Learning Activities
• Tailored Work Experience or Internship Programmes
