New Year, New Challenge – register for Northamptonshire Health Charity’s annual abseil day
Are you looking for a challenge in 2020? Why not do something outside your comfort zone and take part in the Northamptonshire Health Charity abseil day on Saturday 27th June at the Northampton Lift Tower.
We are calling on you to go ‘over the top’ and abseil the 418ft (127m) iconic National Lift Tower and raise funds in aid of the ward, department or service of your choice at Northampton General Hospital or any community services across the county. Last year, the event raised a fabulous £15,000 to support a wide-range of wards and departments. Can you help us beat last year’s fundraising?
Demonstrating that age is no barrier were our eldest participant, 82-year old NGH volunteer Brian Hayes, supporting Breast Care Services and our youngest daredevil Lucy Noel, who was 13 at the time, gave her sponsor money to Oncology and Gosset Ward at NGH. We also had 15-year old Thomas Cole who abseiled for the Palliative Care team, where his mum Hayley works and a team of 4 staff from Cedar ward at NGH raised over £2,000 towards a bladder scanner for their ward.
With the money you raise you can choose to support the ward, department or service closest to your heart at Northampton General Hospital or across the community services, including mental health hospitals throughout Northamptonshire. It is always a really fantastic day with a true team spirit and your family and friends can come along to support you too.
Could this be the challenge for you in 2020? Contact the charity team to register today!
