The 57th Kettering Gang Show will take place at The Lighthouse Theatre, Kettering, from Wednesday 23rd through Saturday 26th November 2016. Performances are nightly at 7.15pm, with a matinee on Saturday at 2.15pm
The Kettering Gang Show achieved the national standard for Gang Shows in 1965 and were awarded the “Red Neckerdhief”. This year sees the 50th Anniversary of this event. The Kettering Gang Show is produced under the auspices’ of Glendon District Scout Council and seeks to raise funds for local Scouting & Guiding projects.
Over 80 local Brownies, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Guides and Leaders are eagerly waiting to entertain you with a vibrant selection of Songs, Sketches, Dance and Comedy items. This award-winning Variety Show is billed as “The Ultimate in Family Entertainment” and is widely accredited as being one of the best shows of its type in the country. The Gang Show dates back to 1932, when a promising London Theatre Producer and Choreographer, Ralph Reader CBE, started to produce an annual variety show to raise money for Scouting funds. The format quickly spread throughout the country and indeed the World, with local Scout Groups and Districts staging their own shows to raise money for their own projects. Following years of history and tradition, audiences receive the current shows as enthusiastically today, as they did all those years ago, and the cycle of fun and laughter continues.
