Nene Court Retail Park in Wellingborough
is Northamptonshire’s shopping success
story and is celebrating the news that
fi ve more boutiques are set to open.
An eclectic and exclusive array of mainly
independent businesses are based at
the former Victorian Gas Light factory
site, dating back to 1833, which has
been lovingly renovated and restored
to now house bespoke boutiques.

To create a unique shopping experience
and breathe new life into the old
buildings, the family-owned site has been
sympathetically restored and renovated
with many original features retained.
Marcel Binley and his family have always
had the “vision” of what Nene Court could
become. They took ownership in 1991
and placed Bestbuys here as
the anchor for the shopping site.

Around 15 years ago, the renovation
project started and, shop by shop, they
were taken over by their tenants. Many
of those original, independent businesses
are still here, thriving and expanding.
The Binley family wants everyone to
know about Nene Court, its rich history
and also how it is evolving for the
future. The latest developments are that
fi ve new bespoke businesses will be
opening at Nene Court soon in addition
to the 17 boutiques already present.

They are elated with how Nene Court is
expanding and take great pride in watching
up to 2,000 people enjoying themselves
when the Court stages events. It was
always the aim to create a lovely retail park
and all share that vision and its success.
Nene Court, The Embankment, is just off
the A45 and open seven days a week with
free parking. For more information visit
