Oundle knitters and crocheters are busy
getting ready for an art installation made
of wool for the centre of Oundle this
summer. This is called yarn bombing,
graffiti knitting or urban knitting, and
comes under the banner of the Oundle
Great Yarn.

This community project is a very social
event with children, men and women of
all ages taking part. There are two gettogethers
a week where people join and
knit and natter, crochet and chatter. It
does not matter if you cannot make the
meetings as most of the work happens in
people’s homes.

If you can knit or crochet, would you be
able to knit or crochet a few triangles for
bunting (pattern supplied) or something
bigger? If you would like to join but
cannot knit or crochet, training is on
hand. Maybe you have odd end of balls
of wool/synthetic, acrylic yarn you would
like to donate? There are wool donation
boxes around Oundle, in Smiths at No 4,
Brewbabu, Beans, the Coffee Tavern and
the Library.
