Street Market

Marking the start of the Oundle Summer Festivals, see page 64, the Oundle Food Festival Street Market takes place in Oundle town centre from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday 5th July. There will be over 70 stallholders including producers of local gin and wine, smoked fi sh, handmade cheese, gluten-free spice mixes, bison, venison, chutnies, pickles, chilli products, vegan food, cider and ginger beer, fudge and fl apjacks. A Park and Ride service into the town centre will be running throughout the day.

Street food

Many of the street food vendors selling sausages, fi shcakes, pizzas, soup, vegan and vegetarian food, speciality teas and coffees, use only locally sourced ingredients, adamant they add a distinctive edge to their products. Squisito, regular at the Food Festival and the BBC Midlands’ Best Street Food award winner, will be there - a producer of Italian food from fresh local ingredients to Slow Food principles.

Cookery Demonstrations

The Small Bread Company, situated in the heart of Oundle market square, will be celebrating the opening of its new cookery school during the Oundle Food Festival and will be hosting a series of cookery demonstrations, both during the Street Market itself and the following week. These include a Bake Real Bread workshop and Make the Perfect Pastry where you can
learn how to make the perfect pastry and avoid the dreaded “soggy bottom”. Tickets are limited and available from The Small Bread Bakery itself.
