Exhibition of Original paintings, Limited Edition Prints & Sculpture Leading British wildlife artists Debbie Boon, Rupert Till and Sophie Louise White will be exhibiting at the newly restored Yarrow Gallery in Oundle from Saturday 8th March to Sunday 23rd March 2014. Built under the auspices of Oundle School Headmaster F W Anderson during the First World War, The Yarrow Gallery remains part of the School’s estate, running exhibitions and residencies for professional artists as well as pupils. The current exhibition has been organised by Major restoration of the Yarrow Gallery was undertaken in 2013. The interior was stripped to reveal the original oak panels which were cleaned and lightened. The display area was redesigned on the ground floor and the gallery upstairs was opened up to provide further exhibition space. The process of restoration revealed a hitherto unseen portrait of Eric Yarrow, the Gallery’s namesake who died at Ypres in 1915. Over the last couple of years Debbie Boon’s paintings of British animals and landscapes have created a stir with audiences along the length and breadth of the country. Using heavy bodied acrylics and lustrous glazes she injects each image with an incredible ‘joie de vivre’. Whether painting a gleaming cockerel or a mud-spattered pig, this energetic approach quite literally stops people in their tracks. 2014 sees Debbie building her studio portfolio whilst continuing to work on commissions for private clients worldwide. Works in the exhibition include original works on canvas and limited edition prints published by Collier & Dobson Ltd. The Gallery will be open Monday through Saturday 10.30am to 1pm & 2.30-5pm and Sunday 2.30-5pm Yarrow Gallery |
