Choosing the fi rst school for your child is an important decision that all parents have to make and, for many, the deadline for the September intake is fast approaching. Primary school preferences have to be made by 15th January 2014 in order that they can be considered.
Titchmarsh Church of England Primary School has been serving the local community since its foundation in 1843 and seeks to create a creative and inspiring place to learn. The school was judged good with outstanding features in its most recent OFSTED inspection in 2012 and, in the same year, the Church inspectors rated it as Outstanding. Recent independent inspections and performance indicators suggest that the school is well on the road to achieving ‘outstanding’ status in its next OFSTED review.

Titchmarsh Primary School seeks to instil the values of independent learning and collaboration by teaching children the skills to lead their own learning, encouraging and inspiring a desire to question, to investigate, and to understand the world around them.

Drawing pupils from the rural area surrounding Titchmarsh, the school also appeals to families from Thrapston and further afi eld, attracted by the Christian values and beliefs on which the school is built and the unique atmosphere that a village school generates. For parents still undecided about which school would be most suitable for their child, Titchmarsh is well worth considering if you feel he or she would benefi t from the environment and individual focus that a school of just 80 pupils can offer across fi ve school years (reception through to year 4).

That is not to say that the school lacks specialist facilities – Titchmarsh was one of the first primary schools in the area to embrace technology in the classroom with iPads regularly used in lessons to support the excellent teaching within the school. Titchmarsh draws on specialist physical education and music teachers to bring expertise into key learning areas. The school also offers support and development opportunities for the most gifted and able as well as those in need of additional help to reach their potential.

Lunchtime and after school clubs including craft, gymnastics, gardening, sports, board games, knitting, lego and basketball also ensure that pupils have the opportunity to pursue their personal hobbies and interests. The introduction of a breakfast club and after school club in early 2014 will provide additional fl exibility for parents who appreciate the support that such a scheme offers. Hot school meals are available for all pupils.

With just a couple of weeks to go before school preferences need to be submitted, if you would like the opportunity to consider Titchmarsh Church of England Primary School, then please contact the School Secretary to obtain an individual appointment to visit the school on 01832 732874 or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
