Been training hard all summer?

Now is the time to put your training to the test and join the Great Gorilla Ride on Saturday 14th September 2013. A cycle sportive consisting of three exciting routes through some of England’s most picturesque countryside, set to challenge all abilities.

Long Route: 104.3 miles

Medium Route: 68.7 miles

Short Route: 42 miles

Starting in Northamptonshire and riding through parts of Rutland and Leicestershire, the routes take you up and down some of the three counties most challenging climbs and descents.

set off between 7.30 – 8.00am

Medium Route riders

set off between 8.00 – 8.30am

Short Route riders

set off between 8.30 – 9.00am

Riders are set off in staggered groups, all riders on the road by 9am.

Pre-registered £20 (£25 on the day)

Pre-register online via British Cycling.  Registration on the day will be open from 7am and closes at 8.30am What’s included?

Electronic timing with disposable chip timers for all riders.

Fully signed routes with on route rider support and bike maintenance.

Feed stations stacked with cake and other energy rich food & refreshments to keep you going and toilet facilities to prevent you using the hedge! Three stops on the long route, two on the medium route and one on the short route.

Hot lunch for all riders on return to the Gorilla Firm Head Quarters in Oundle.  Free pint of beer and entry to the Nene Valley Brewery Knees Up with live music.  As we are lucky enough to be situated alongside the river Nene, kayaks and canoes will be available to hire from Trek-Kits throughout the day along with a climbing wall to entertain spectators waiting for family or friends to return.

The aim is for you have a great time and there will be plenty going on down at Oundle Wharf so why not bring some supporters along and make a day of it!

Free on site parking will be available.  Please ensure your bike is fi t and safe for the challenge and that you have an appropriate safety helmet.
