The Oundle Fringe is taking place from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd July 2012. The ‘Fringe’ is all about locality, with many of the performers and audiences being drawn both from the town and the surrounding villages. This year, performers have been attracted from much further afield, with bands coming from Stamford, Peterborough and beyond. This is an event to demonstrate what an enormous amount of talent there is locally and create a really exciting week in the town. The Fringe will include music from bands from many different genre including, folk, world and rock, to name but a few, playing at all the different venues in the town. There will be folk sessions where musicians can come and join in, Bluegrass on Monday, Irish on Tuesday and English on Thursday. Comedians and comic song will make merry and entertain, poets will bring a myriad selection of verse, choirs will be singing, and there will be theatre groups and raconteurs. On Saturday 21st Oundle Food Festival (see pages 50-51) will take place throughout the town with different stalls of sumptuous food with displays of dancing and other entertainment.
