The 4th annual Corby Walking Festival takes place from 5-7 May 2012 in Corby

The event comprises of a three-day walking programme to celebrate the numerous walking opportunities in Corby Borough both in the town and countryside. The Festival programme has a variety of free walks aimed at all ages and fi tness abilities, with a number of themed routes, including local history, photography and wildlife. All routes are led by qualifi ed walk leaders. If you want a challenge, try your hand at the 34 mile Around Corby circular route, which links the seven parishes via a network of public footpaths.

The Festival is pleased to name Lakelands Day Care Hospice as the benefi ciary charity for 2012. All donations will ensure the continuation of their work providing specialist palliative care for people with life limiting illnesses. A ‘Diamonds and Tiaras’  fundraising walk will be held on Saturday 5th May at East Carlton Country Park, to celebrate the National Queen Diamond Jubilee.

The event will fi nish with a Community Funday on Monday 7th May at East Carlton Country Park, supported by Lakelands and Core Theatre. A number of partner organisations will be supporting the event, including Bizzy Bees Buses, Northamptonshire Ramblers, Wildlife Trust, RSPB, Northamptonshire County Council and East Carlton Health Walking Group.
