The Seagrave Singers is a
well-established, very
friendly, highly regarded
and popular, all-female
choir. The choir has
enjoyed taking part in
competitions over many
years, singing in concerts
in many different locations
and has enjoyed two tours to
Lahnstein, Germany.

The repertoire is wide ranging, from
Handel, Chilcott, Rutter, to “Songs from
Shows”, Abba, Adele and other popular
artistes. A programme can be tailored
to meet the requirements of any group
or organisation. The choir is seeking to
perform in different venues, for charities
and other events, for instance, if you
wanted to make your wedding, flower
festival, village fête, music festival, a
fundraising event or corporate event
memorable. All concerts and competitions
are performed without copies, and some
pieces have simple choreography.

The choir is also looking for
new members. No audition
is required to join, you don’t
need to read music, but
an ability to sing in tune
is helpful. Prospective
members are given two
complementary sessions,
before making the decision to
join the choir.

There is an expected commitment to
weekly rehearsals, where full support is
given. The choir rehearses on a Monday
evening from 6.45pm to 9pm. Rehearsals
are fun but focused, from “note bashing”
for four-part harmonies, to musical
interpretation, to concert standard.

If you are interested in booking the choir
to perform for you or in joining the choir,
please contact their Musical Director, Sue
Peel, on 07921 841 257.
