Stanwick Lakes have won an award for Best Family Attraction in the inaugural Muddy Stilettos Awards, celebrating fantastic places, spaces and businesses across Northamptonshire. Tens of thousands of Northants residents voted in the prestigious Muddy Stilettos Awards 2016 with deserving winners being announced on 14th June. The award-winning lifestyle blog, Muddy Stilettos, celebrates the very best places, spaces and businesses across eleven counties, and the Northamptonshire arm received a huge amount of interest, despite its relatively recent launch in February. Over 20,000 voters in the region across 30 categories nominated and voted for their favourite local businesses in what turned out to be a highly-contested competition.
Alyson Allfree, Director at the Rockingham Forest Trust, who manages Stanwick Lakes, was delighted to have won the award and would like to thank all supporters in the local community who voted for and visit Stanwick Lakes.
Anna-Lou Dearden, editor of Muddy Stilettos Northants, found it particularly exciting to see just how many wonderful places there are to visit in our local area and how hard people work to make it a great place to be.
Stanwick Lakes is a unique 750 acre countryside attraction and nature reserve in the heart of the Nene Valley. Extensive play areas keep adventurous families entertained for hours and nature lovers, walkers and cyclists can enjoy acres of wide open spaces and paths. The visitor centre has a host of facilities and activities including café, shop, nature and craft events and an indoor soft play area.
