Have a go at fly fishing this Summer

Ever fancied having a go at catching a trout for tea or
wondered what it was like to fish at somewhere like
Pitsford Reservoir?

Mid Northants Trout Fishers Association are offering
anyone the chance to have a go at fly fishing at Pitsford
Reservoir this summer. One of the oldest fly fishing clubs
in the country, MNTFA started in 1952 to improve trout
fishing in the area for local people.

Today the club has some excellent trout fishing facilities
and is helping anglers to learn more, develop skills and
help remind you that the best way to get better is to
get out and go fishing. The club is running a coaching
session on Saturday 13th August from 1-5pm, which is
completely free to attend.

The session will cover everything associated with fly
fishing including casting, fly selection and what equipment
to use and when. All tackle
will be provided if required,
although participants are
encouraged to dig out any
tackle from the shed and
bring it along. It is a great
opportunity to find out what
its like to fish for Trout at
one of the best fisheries in
the Midlands, picking up tips from
the club’s licenced angling coaches.

Mid Northants Trout Fishers also
run regular sessions on the bank of
the reservoir and provide a brilliant
environment for anyone looking to
get into the sport and learn a bit
more.

Anybody interested in coming along
to the next session should contact
John Clarke on 07778 739157
