Mary Cummings opened her fashion
and clothing boutique ‘mary&me’ in
Piccadilly Buildings, Sheep Street
in Kettering, at the beginning of September.
Having been an integral part of the ‘Venutti’
team who held the premises for the past three
years, Mary took over the fashion concern
when the Venutti owner, Chris Dagless,
decided to concentrate on the wholesale side
of the business.

With a background in banking and finance,
Mary extended her business acumen to
include a keen interest in the fashion industry
and the retail side of running a company.
Establishing mary&me is a perfect life-style
choice for Mary, combining her passion for
fashion and customer service with the ability
of visiting the gym before the shop opens.
Mary also draws great benefit from the
knowledge of her daughter, Natalie, who at
20 is studying Fashion Merchandising and
Buying at Manchester Met and also works
as a Brand Manager for a fashion Agency.

Natalie is a great source of inspiration to Mary
and often comes home to sell to her mother!
Many of the brands in mary&me are Danish
by origin, with well-matched and colourcoordinated
styles. The hand-picked items
are aimed at different groups of people
which allows the shop to reach out to a wide
audience and cater for most age groups.
Current brands include Salsa, b. Young, Ichi,
Yest, Soaked in Luxury, Cream Postcard
from Brighton (made in Leicester), Jayley,
Robell and Vanilla Moon. New ranges will be
introduced in the New Year and there will be
item that you can pick up for a present for a
girlfriend or perhaps something to take as a
small gift for a host.

mary&me also hosts a ‘man chair’ for the
patient partner - who will be offered a cup
of coffee and the Saturday paper... if it is
Saturday! mary&me is open Monday to
Saturday 9.30am to 5pm.
