New facilities to be ‘christened’ at Christmas bazaar
The pretty conservation village of Harringworth, nestled close to the magnificent brick built viaduct on the border between Rutland and Northamptonshire, will be putting its newly installed facilities in St John’s Church to the test at the village Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 21st November from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
After many years of fundraising and the recent award of several generous grants, the church has recently fitted a disabled toilet and up to date servery ensuring that St John’s is an ideal venue for hosting regular concerts and offers improved facilities for baptisms, weddings and funerals and regular church services.
This is ideal timing for the Christmas Bazaar held every year in St John the Baptist Church and the team of helpers who provide tea and mince pies are especially excited about the new facilities as their role will be made so much easier with the new servery.
The Harringworth Bazaar is an ideal venue to find great value Christmas presents; it features a variety of local traders with carefully selected gift ideas alongside the ‘Made in Harringworth’ local produce, preserves, cakes and craft carefully prepared by villagers. For many years, the famous ‘Harringworth Hampers’ have taken centre stage and this year is no exception with tickets available to purchase ahead of the event, by popular demand.
Whilst browsing the stalls you can take a break and relax with a nice cup of tea and mince pies; the cost is included in the entrance ticket set at a modest £1.50, with children under 12 free.
Proceeds from the Christmas Bazaar go towards the Harringworth Appeals Fund which raises funds for village projects, including the church project opened at the event on Saturday, 21st November 2015. The Harringworth Village website, village Twitter @Harringworth and Harringworth Village News Facebook page have further details of the stall holders and traditionally helps to create interest locally bringing visitors to the ‘not-to-be-missed’ event from all over the region. The SatNav postcode is NN17 3AF and details can be obtained from 01572 747700.
