Sunday 7th February
Mr Holmes (PG)
Set in 1947, a long-retired Sherlock Holmes, played by Ian McKellen,
is living in a Sussex village with his housekeeper and her young son,
a boy who idolises him and wants him to work again. Holmes is
wrestling with his own early dementia as he tries to remember and
solve his final case, now 30 years old, and is haunted by the memory
of a woman at the heart of that case.

Thursday 18th February
45 Years (15)
In the week leading up to their 45th wedding anniversary celebration,
the ‘happy couple’ receive an unexpected letter which reveals
an emotional secret from the husband’s past. Superbly nuanced
performances from Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtenay turn what
appears to be an everyday story of a seemingly rock-solid marriage
into one full of suspicion and distrust. Set in the beautiful but bleak
Norfolk landscape, this is an intelligent and moving British film.

Sunday 28th February
Suffragette (12A)
Suffragette tracks the campaign of the early feminist movement;
women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game
of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal state. Radicalised and
resorting to violence as the only way to effect change, they were
willing to lose everything in their fight for equality - their jobs, homes,
children and their lives.
