Raunds gift shop
in industry award fi nal

GiftsMade4u, based in Raunds, has been
selected as one off just six fi nalists in the Best
Newcomer Awards for the Midlands, North and
Scotland in ‘The Greats Gift Retailer Awards
2015’. The winner will be announced on
Thursday 7th May at the awards ceremony in
The Savoy, Central London.

GiftsMade4u fi rst opened its doors to the
public in October 2013, offering handmade
and personalised items as well as a vast range
greetings cards and giftware, including bags
and purses, cosmetics, candles, jewellery and
fashion accessories, clocks and homeware.
Owners, Caroline and Kevin Irons, formed
Special Coating Services Limited in the depth
of the recession in April 2010, initially providing
a coating service to industry specializing in
‘liquid metal coatings’, a method of putting
a real metal layer, such as copper and
bronze, on to other materials like wood and
plastics, mainly for the signs and shop fi ttings
industries. In addition to the coatings, Special
Coating Services Limited made and supplied
commercial signs to shops, hairdressers etc.,
and then supplied ‘novelty’ signs and plaques,
to shops and trade fairs as well as through a
growing social media following, c reating the
brand GiftsMade4u.

Although the liquid metal coatings
are still a key factor, the demand for
personalised signs and plaques has
grown signifi cantly, and when a shop
unit became available a couple of
miles away from home, and close to
the children’s school, it seemed too
good an opportunity to miss.
The shop was fi tted out to create a
homely environment, and rather than
presented on sterile shop fi ttings
and racks, the merchandise was
displayed on natural wood vintage
furniture and handmade shelving to
create a more welcoming shopping
experience. Excellent customer
service and good value for money is
of the highest importance, together
with unique and unusual gifts. Free
wrapping is always offered on all gift
purchases, which is then presented
in a complimentary, quality kraft
paper gift bag.

The range of hand made and
personalised items continues
to grow, and the range of other
giftware also continues to increase,
and the shop is proud to have been
appointed as stockist for a number
of prestigious key brands such as
Yankee Candles, Bomb Cosmetics,
East of India and Gisela Graham.
Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday
8.30am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to
3pm. Occasional late night opening
by invitation only and promotional
