Tap & Kitchen is a waterside restaurant
and bar located in the historic warehouse
at Oundle Wharf. The restaurant was
opened in November 2014 by Dick
Simpson and David Burnett, who set up
the Nene Valley Brewery at the Wharf
in 2012, surrounded by neighbouring
businesses Trek Kits, Gorilla Firm Cycling
and Flower Invasion. The décor of the
newly renovated warehouse refl ects its
origins with a rustic/industrial look softened
by wooden furniture and colourful soft
interiors.

Dick and David have joined forces with
General Manager Dan Coshan and Head
Chef Nigel Fish, both with extensive
hospitality experience and a desire to
implement all that they have learnt into this
project.

All four have a passion for good service,
fresh food, great drink and a friendly
environment. With a varied selection of
their own beer from Nene Valley Brewery,
a rotation of products of other brewers
they most admire and a great wine list,
they welcome guests for a full meal, a bar
snack, or just a drink and a chat.

The emphasis is on unpretentious, honest
dishes, prepared and cooked fresh to
order on site using the best ingredients,
sourced locally where possible. Menus
are uploaded daily as they are written and
based on market produce. Daily service
covers morning coffee, lunch, bar food
and dinner, as well as breakfast at the
weekend. Almost everything is made
in-house, from preserves to puddings
through to chutneys and sauces and
even homemade bacon, sausages and
beans at breakfast, which is always
served with topped-up tea or fi lter coffee.
The friendly bar has up to eighteen beers on tap
and features twelve gins and a well-stocked wine
cellar. Open seven days a week and looking to
set up an outside kitchen for the summer, the Tap
& Kitchen hopes to be a hub for good quality food,
drink and service in Northamptonshire.

For groups of ten or more guests, the Tap & Kitchen
offers a feasting menu, a choice of seasonal dishes
to share. Food is served at the table, by you and
your guests, and the feasting element enhances
the sense of occasion and atmosphere . The cost is
£30 per person, and the group will pre-book either
one or two dishes for each course. If two choices
are made, these will be divided 50:50 and served
on equal feasting platters. Bespoke options can be
arranged and each dish comes fully garnished with
seasonal accompaniments. Please note a service
charge of 10% will be added to the bill.
