The 6th annual Festival takes place from 3rd – 5th May. The event comprises of a three-day walking programme to celebrate the numerous walking opportunities in Corby Borough, both in the town and countryside. The event is supported by a number of agencies, including Corby Borough Council, Northamptonshire County Council, Northamptonshire Ramblers and East Carlton Health Walking Group.

Corby Borough is exceptional as it has an abundance of urban greenspaces and woodland and also has the magnificent Rockingham Forest on its doorstep, which was once former hunting grounds of the medieval Kings of England.

The walking programme has a variety of free walks aimed at all ages and fitness abilities, with a number of themed routes, including local history, Nordic Walking and experiencing some of the area’s National Trust treasures. All routes are led by qualified walk leaders. There is even a chance to be your favourite hero in the Super Hero Sunset Walk on Friday 2nd May!

The Festival continues its special connection with Lakelands Day Care Hospice as the event’s beneficiary charity. All donations will ensure the continuation of their work providing specialist palliative care for people with life limiting illnesses. The event will finish with a free Community Fun Day on Monday 5th May at East Carlton Country Park, supported by
Lakelands Day Care Hospice. Join in the family fun with archery, bouncy castles, face painting, falconry and much more!

Learn all about creepy crawlies from local organisation Bugtopia in their ‘Show and Tell’ workshops – could you come face to face with a red kneed tarantula?
