On Monday 27th January the Trinity CE Lower School Choir from Aldwincle set off to the Young Voices Concert at the O2 Arena, London. After many months of practising both songs and dance moves, the time had finally come to put it all into practice with 7300 other children from different schools across the country to an audience of about 12000 families and friends.

The children performed a variety of songs including “Mr Blue Sky” and “Lean On Me” as well as three medleys which comprised at least six songs each. The guest singer for the concert was Stacey Solomon, former X-Factor winner, and the children sang beautifully alongside her to her new song “The Way We Was” and “Son of a Preacherman”. The concert is one of the biggest things that Trinity School has ever been part of and the children really did the school proud. The choir, all of the massive amount of preparation, learning and rehearsing the songs and dances as well as the arrangement of the whole event was thanks to Mrs Freeman, senior teacher at the school.

Over the past few months, the children have been rehearsing several times a week a lunchtimes and after school to get ready. They also raised money for their coach by performing at the Thrapston Christmas Fayre and by putting on their own preview show for families and friends in school. The event was supported extensively by the FTS (parents association), who supplied drinks and goody bags for all of the children. It was a stunning event and the children of Trinity were delighted to take part and showed outstanding effort and enthusiasm.
