Yamaha to Partner Oundle International Festival With just less than three weeks to go until the 29th Oundle International Festival, the The International Festival, which runs from Friday 12th through Sunday 21st July, will have the Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge, and their Director of Music, Mark Williams, in Oundle as resident musicians for most of the event. They will be leading the Bach Walk, singing Evensong, working with theSummer School organists, leading the Festival Chorus in a LIVE BBC Radio 4 Broadcast, and performing Monteverdi Vespers accompanied by His Majesty’s Sagbutts and Cornetts. There are also recitals by leading organists including Through the generosity of Yamaha UK, OIF will have an S6 Grand Piano and will be featuring a number of world class piano events. This magnificent hand crafted instrument, was built at Yamaha’s own workshops and is one of the finest examples of modern piano technology. In This year’s Picnic in the Park is in partnership with Boughton House and OIF are excited to be welcoming back Courtney Pine with his award-winning House Of Legends project. Boughton offers a spectacular setting for a picnic and a fireworks display reflected on the lake. A canopy site, with canopies and furniture already in place, will be available During the Festival week, OIF are liaising closely with the Fringe Festival and the series of lunchtime concerts is timed so that you can enjoy Fringe events as well as OIF lunchtime events. Do join in the final joint Saturday event which will be in the form of a Ceilidh. Oundle Cinema are working with OIF to mount a series of films including Les Misérables, Quartet and a Singalong production of Grease, an opportunity to relive the 1970s with an exciting interactive evening in the cinema. Additional artists include Tasmin Little, the internationally famous violinist, Richard Suart, star of Gilbert and Sullivan, Prime Brass, Amy Green, Becky Taylor, the Wobbly World of Opera and Babe, the Sheep Pig. All in all, there is much to look forward to, new experiences to be gained and new venues to enjoy, not only at Boughton, but for the first time OIF will be setting up residence in the Queen Victoria Hall, which has fantastic facilities for everyone.
