If you bring your favourite garments to the AND studio, founder Aruna Bhagwan, will experiment by draping different fabrics and adding design details onto them, so together you can explore a design and style that works for you. By giving your garments a new twist you can extend their wearability and Aruna will weave her magic, coming up with amazing ideas and practical suggestions.

Fabric can be draped into new collars and necklines, sleeves added and cuffs pleated. Waistlines can be lifted to make a dress more flattering to your shape, becoming more sophisticated or dramatic, depending on your personality. Bits of you you don`t like can be covered and the bits you do emphasised! A simple sleeveless cotton summer frock can be turned into a vintage inspired day dress, but also suits and trousers for gents can be altered to flatter your shape or given an update. Many of Aruna’s customers find that having a piece of garment restyled into a ‘new’ piece by Aruna is better value and much more fun, original and satisfying than traditional store shopping!

The name of Atelier Nora Draper stems from a Leicester seamstress, who was a dear friend and inspiration to Aruna. Aruna also trained in Leicester, a hub for fashion & textile businesses since before the industrial revolution, and was taught traditional tailoring by some of its best tailors. This took her on a journey of making beautifully handmade bespoke clothing. In 2012, Aruna decided that the best way to showcase her tailoring was to produce a seasonal collection. She met Kate Unwin, a successful set and costume designer working in Leicester, and they joined forces to create Atelier Nora Draper.

Atelier Nora Draper provides quality, tailored pieces made from British materials, which are both timeless and contemporary. Inspired by and designed for women, these clothes show creativity whilst being extremely wearable. Atelier Nora Draper offers a ready-to-wear seasonal collection and a bespoke tailoring/clothing service.
