Important conservation work has been taking place at Lamport Hall over the winter period. To mark the re-opening of this much loved attraction, Antiques 2 Go are returning to host an Antiques and Collectors Fair in the restored stable yard this Easter weekend, Sunday 8 and Monday 9 April, 10am to 4pm. The Hall and Gardens will be open separately on the same days from 2pm, with last admission at 4pm.

Lamport Hall is located off the A508 between Northampton and Market Harborough. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, it was home to the Isham family for over 400 years. The 3rd Baronet is responsible for much of the collection, overspending on the Grand Tour. One of the pictures that has been professionally conserved is the portrait of Sir Justinian, 8th Baronet.

With a darkened varnish, the painting had been overlooked for years by visitors; now, after cleaning and re-touching, it has a new lease of life. As well as old favourites, the Fair will see lots of new stalls. With quality antiques, furniture, collectables, jewellery, pictures and other specialist items on offer, there is something for all collections, big and small. Refreshments will be available, with free car parking and a free programme.

Admission to the Fair is £3.50 for adults, £3 for senior citizens and children are free. Admission to the Hall and Gardens is separate to the Fair and costs £8 for adults, £7.50 for senior citizens and £2.50 for children (11-18). The Hall and Gardens are open from Easter Sunday to October 14th on Wednesdays and Thursdays, for guided tours only at 2.15pm and 3pm, and for non-guided tours on Bank Holiday Sundays/Mondays plus May 19 & 20 and October 13 & 14 from 2pm to 5pm with last admission at 4pm. Private visits with pre-booked refreshments can be made at certain times of the year by prior arrangement, subject to availability and a minimum charge.
