Primrose Gallery relocated to Thrapston in September, having previously been based in Derngate and in Kingsthorpe. For nearly two decades, the gallery has established a nationwide reputation for fine art and craft, as well as high quality picture framing, picture cleaning, art restoration, photo restoration and printing.
The owner and proprietor, Neil Duguid, is a former director of The Fine Art Trade Guild and still sits on the International Picture Framing Committee, which gives advice and sets guidelines for the industry. Three of the six framers in the team are Guild Qualified Framers, the others also have a lifetime of varied industry experience.
The work on display at Primrose Gallery is a mixture of work by local, national and international artists. The ceramics, sculptures and glassware provide excellent gifts to finish any home, and there are original pieces from as little as £50. You will also find paintings of interest to collectors, for example, by Ken Howard OBE RA, Stephen Hawkins and Northamptonshire’s Martin Taylor.
Primrose Gallery has just featured work by the famous Cornish artist (and musician), Alan Furneax, and a ‘Best-of-the-Best’ show from the Open Studios prize winners from The Alfred East Gallery, and will shortly exhibit a series of original etchings by Rebecca Vincent from Northumbria.
The next show preview evening will be on Wednesday 2nd November, 6-8.30pm, to launch the mixed show that will be running up to Christmas. Primrose Gallery will also hold late night openings until 7.30pm on Thursday 24th November and on Thursdays in December.
Primrose Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday.
