The Glendon District, Kettering, Corby
and surrounding villages, have 23
Scout Groups in its District and needs
volunteers to help run these Groups.
Each Group is made up of an Executive
Committee, a Group Scout Leader, a
Beaver Leader, a Cub Scout Leader and
a Scout Leader. Each Group will also
have Assistant Leaders and Occasional
Helpers to run the section evenings and
help out at other events.

The District has had a large increase
in the number of young people joining,
going from 1290 in 2014/15 to 1365 in
2015/16. The District is looking for
people willing to take on the following
roles within the District: Beaver
Leaders, Cub Scout Leaders, Scout
Leaders, Explorer Leaders, Assistants
and Occasional Helpers in each section.

The amount of time that you give will
depend on the role you may wish to take
on. This will vary from 1½ to two hours per
week as an Assistant Leader or Occasional
helper and if you were to take on the role of
Beaver Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Scout
Leader or Explorer Leader you will need
to give the same amount of time for Group
nights plus two to three hours per week
for planning and preparing for the Group
nights.

We will provide all the training require to do
these roles successfully. All we ask of you
is a commitment to help provide a fun and
supportive place for all our young people to
grow and expand their learning throughout
their time in the Scouting Movement.
You do not need any experience to do
any of these roles but you do need
the drive and enthusiasm to help
young people have fun. If you do have
management or business experience
this will help.
