Friday 8th to Saturday 16th July
Food delight and entertainment!

The Oundle Food Festival, part of the Oundle
International Festival, has become one of the
region’s top gastronomic events. The Street
Market on Saturday 16th July completes the
week’s celebration of good food and drink in
many of the local establishments with many
restaurants and pubs show-casing a wealth
of regional fayre. The opportunity to dine
out before one of the International Festival’s
lunchtime recitals or evening concerts, cinema
and theatre, makes Oundle a great destination
this summer!

The bunting and bustle of the Street Market
in the picturesque Market Square is a sight to
behold. Around 70 stalls selling some of the
country’s finest foods and drink provides a
chance for both locals and visitors to meet the
people who raise, make or grow their delicious
products – knowing the provenance of what
you are consuming makes it taste that little bit
nicer!

This year’s sponsor, the Hambleton Bakery,
which has recently reopened a shop at Oundle
Wharf, is one of the many stall holders who
return by popular demand. There are also
some new-comers: Bakers Bangers, who
produce cold and smoked sausages and
home-cured bacon; The Little Smoke House,
who sell a selection of home-smoked cheeses
and spices; The Cuckoo Coffee Company;
Profumo Coffee Company and The Teaspoon
Tea Company.

Festival favourites, the Oundle Fringe
performers, will provide entertainment
throughout the day. The ever-popular Tap
& Sync, Oundle’s local Appalachian dance
formation and American traditional formation
dance team, Kick Start, will take to the stage in
between short sets by local duos Matt Carter &
Lottie Dolby and Lesley Curtis & Tony Harris and the
band Short Measures. Street performers will mingle
with the crowd, adding to the atmosphere. A park and
ride service, provided through Oundle School, will be
available from the Oundle Wharf.

Throughout the week the Falcon Inn in Fotheringhay
and the Tap and Kitchen restaurant in Oundle are
running special Food Festival menus which highlight
local produce, and Seven Wells Butchers and Stu-
Pots of Oundle are offering 10% discounts on certain
products. On Saturday 16th July between 11.30am
and 2.30pm Barnwell Park will once again be holding
their very popular Teddy Bear’s Picnic and local
author, Barbara Cousins, will be signing her new book
Easy Tasty Healthy in the Oundle Book Shop between
10am-2pm.

The fun doesn’t stop here; in the evening you can
take your Food Festival picnic down to the Oundle
International Festival’s first ever Outdoor Cinema
event – a screening of Grease by LUNA FLIX.

Gates open at 8pm, the screening starts at 9.45pm.
Sponsored by The Beauty Room, there will be stylists
on hand to assist you to get into character!
