Turning youngsters’ dreams
of success into reality

If you are aged between 13 and 30, living in
Northamptonshire, Rutland or Leicestershire
and need funding to help improve your skills
in sports, the creative and performing arts,
The Travers Foundation wants to hear
from you.

Athletes supported by the charity had a
fantastic year in 2015, with a dozen top
awards being achieved:

• Hurdler Lucy Hatton, 20, started the
medal haul in February with a Silver in
the British Indoor Championships, swiftly
followed in March with another Silver at
the European Indoor Championships in
Prague;

• Hot on Lucy’s heels came basketball
player Chris Southwell, 22 from
Oakham, who achieved Gold with Team
GB at the Special Olympics in LA;

• Joe Watkins, 17 from Northampton, is
a champion kickboxer who won a Silver
medal at the European Championships
in Spain, and also had wins in the Junior
Euro Cup in Birmingham;

• His cousin Tom Symons, 13, a kickboxer and
also from Northampton, won a Gold and two
Silvers at the Junior Euro Cup in Birmingham;

• Tennis player Joe Tyler, aged 16 from Corby,
won doubles tournaments in Finland, Croatia
and Macedonia. Joe also reached the semifinal
in the Singles Nike Junior International
Tournament in Edinburgh.

Could you be somebody winning gold in 2016?
